Learned how to use the working tools, follow the working rules and know the team to work in group, specifically:
– Rolled call at Zalo, Skype. – Listened to teachers about the brief content to practice – Understood and mastered the introduction to the applications that will work during the internship: Trello, Slack, Google Group or Google Classroom – Tested communication software via Slack and Skype – Rolled call through Slack – Got instructions on how to use SDL Trados and practice using the software – Got the first exercise through SDL Trados – Practiced submitting exercise through Google Classroom – Listened to the teacher summarize the past 2 days for additional guidance – Got instructions, install, manage and use the first project (lasting 2 weeks), combine using Onenote and Project Studio – Listened to an introduction to creating Tembase ™ and Translation Memory, and about using Glossary Converter – Got more instructions on how to use SDL Trados and Translation Memory file – Wrote a report on the first week of training, specifically: “The training opportunity which I had with my classmates from Computational Linguistics Centre- Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City was a great chance for me to enhance my knowledge, learn practical skills, work in real environment and apply into practice what I have learned at school. Therefore, I consider myself a very lucky individual as I can meet and work online with an excellent teacher who instructed me during my first week. Firstly, I would love to express my deep thankfulness to Mr Dien and Mr Khue for accepting me as a trainee and creating all good conditions for me to help me fulfill all of my tasks during training time. Especially, I would like to send my special thanks to my supervisor Mr. Khue, along with all my friends in HUCFL for enthusiastically instructing me a lot with daily work activities. I would like to express my great gratitude to my honorable teacher, who supported me by proper guidance, sincere comments and advice, and led me the right way to conduct my internship report. During the period of training, here are something I have learned: – Install Trello and Slack tools – Install CAT tool, SDL Trados – Conduct trial practice with CAT tool – Test translation exercises – Especially, I know how to study teamwork” |
